MARCH 2013 UPDATE: The brewery continues in fine form, but the brewery shop is no longer open as they need the space for increased brewing and conditioning capacity. The Woolston Hop will fill riggers of beer, and The Lincoln Hop (and microbrewery) remains on track for opening later this year.
JUNE 2012 UPDATE: The Twisted Hop Brewery has been resurrected on an industrial estate at Wigram (see map below), and its brewery shop opened in April. It is open on Fridays from 2-7 pm, dispensing riggers of real ale tapped directly from the cask before your eyes. Two new Twisted Hop pubs are on their way. The first building, at Ferry Road, Woolston, is almost finished, and is scheduled for opening later this year. The second, in Lincoln, isn't as far advanced, but will house a microbrewery.
MARCH 2011 UPDATE: Note that the Twisted Hop is closed until further notice following the 22nd February earthquake. The building survived, and all staff and customers escaped. The Twisted Hop's location is inside the 'Red Zone', and it is likely to remain off limits for many months due to the damaged surrounding buildings.
The following beers are usually available on handpump:
- Golding Bitter (3.7%)
- Challenger (5.0%)
- Twisted Ankle (5.95)
